Design Cycle 1

Sketches or preliminary CAD! Generate multiple solution ideas - aim for 3 unique concepts. Make sure each solution solves the must-haves, and solves as many nice-to-haves as possible. Please conduct background research if necessary, and speak to the relevant subteams. Note - this step does not include physical prototyping.

Write down positives and negatives of each design. Consider how they’ll interact with the rest of the build, if applicable.

If any other requirements come up, please add them above.

Design Cycle 2

Feedback from Cycle 1 Review

Write down things to improve from feedback you’ve received. feedback from senior members, and make a list of what you’re going to improve and do before the second design review.

Design Cycle 2

Decide which designs to narrow down to, and flesh them out a little more. This means better-defining integration and digging deeper in analysisand doing some physical prototyping to support your concepts. Expand your list of positives and negatives. This should be narrowed down to a couple designs.

If this cycle requires a 3rd review, follow a similar process. If not, the feedback should be minimal - implement it, and deploy the final version of your solution.
