Battery Shrouds

Smile Khatri Andy Zhang

  • Carbon fiber layups were completed last Saturday. Andy has contacted E3 for water jetting the shrouds. E3 should be operational next week because they need to fix their waterjet.

  • Brian at E3 said cutting it with a bandsaw would do and the piece was too flimsy for the waterjet and a waste of time / resources

  • (Andy) Took Friday to cut all the carbon shrouds so its now 4 pieces that just needs to be sanded, cleaned (can the wax be washed off?) and then epoxy it onto the PLA clips.

  • If someone has time, we could just tape the carbon plates onto the clips to test how it feels before doing a more permanent solution

Cabin is looking great! Looks like we’re ready to order CF tubes from composites canada and get started on making layups for the first revision!

Layups on pause as we need to order resin with the CF tubes, will get them done as soon as we can after resin arrives. I will start procurement after the meeting and will update when we’ve got a better timeline on when these supplies arrive.
