Tracking Antenna 🗼

Tracking Antenna Tower

MECHANICAL

Yaw only looking good.

  • Will look @ 3s

  • Going to add some angle on yaw only

    • on pitch version, going to add default is level and ability to pitch up and down.

  • Building the antenna starting this week.

  • Using the tripod.

  • No counterbalance for the yagis (fine for yaw only).

  • HS 785 HQ, 8 rotation servo

    • gearbox is 1:7

    • will need calibration for this later (in software)

Tracking Antenna Nucleo Shield

ELECTRICAL

Integration almost complete. BMX tested, NEOM8 not tested.

PID not started….

  • integration code finished

  • have a blocker: not finding neo m8 but solved today

  • will warp up the integration test

  • continue on pid motor code

  • WILL WRITE UNIT TESTS

ELRS 📶

Gemini 📻

ELECTRICAL

  • Slightly behind schedule

  • Electrical schematic in its last stages

    • missing some connector clarifications

      • Planning to ask in ELRS discord

    • Research new component to replace PCB antennas

    • Will require a schematic review

      • Potentially other EE members or leads

      • Also planning to review in ELRS discord

  • PCB design phase hoping to start this week

  • Will ideally be able to give some dimensions and sync with mechanical soon for JR module mechanical design

  • Gemini communicates over UART.

  • Antennas for ESP are mostly meant to flash firmware over wifi / OTA updates

  • Going to do RS422 now, looking for Wireless in the future.

    • if doing wireless - it can be UART.

      • Gemini communication needs BOOT0 connection (to update over wifi).

        • may need to use push-button // jumper

      • Normal communication just uses UART.

  • Just started PCB phase

  • Board will likely not be ordered before the end of the term

    • Will need to be tested early next term
