Meeting Scope

  • Track state of new Cornflakes airframe post previous flight test

  • Identify and update deliverables, owners for each subteam for flight test next weekend

  • Look into long-term flight test planning (general flow of what we would like to ideally test)

Other Concerns

  • Cutoff for when we can’t run competition frame at competition

    • Only need one test to validate the frame, cool to take risk from PIC perspective (Anthony)

    • Very little odds that we’ll use this frame again in next comp cycle - more likely to damage electronics on Cornflakes than Icarus

    • Only use Cornflakes if Icarus is crashed extremely badly before comp (can’t be fixed)

    • Fly it at least once before comp

Flight Test Outlook

Date

Note

April 1st

If weather permitting (looks sketch),:

  • Quad mode up/down & yaw control test.

  • Test different weathervaning & push motor usage for position hold.

  • Test AHRS w/VN-300 if possible.

  • bi-directional telemetry

  • autotune?

  • additional goal of saving time on April 2nd

April 2nd

  • Continuation of March 18th flight test:

    • Fixed Wing Validation

    • Energy usage data collection

    • no VN-300 (in case we crash)

    • auto-tuning?

  • Houston:

    • 1.3ghz VTX w/OSD on downward facing camera.

    • Footage to be recorded with groundstation receiver.

  • auto-land precision

    • How close to target can Ardupilot land given the waypoint, whether CV will be required

  • guided flight mode & auto missions

    • Try different fixed-wing modes to determine what is more/less relevant

    • Test series of waypoint-following by drone

April 8th

  • Icarus Frame first flight (reach goal)

    • Quad mode testing - UP and DOWN

    • Basic roll, pitch, yaw characterization and control

    • Progressively move towards transition and fixed-wing validation

  • If not, then CS2 with “Cornflakes”

April 9th

If needed:

  • footage for Proof of flight.

April 16th

Hold for: Icarus CS2

  • Test out QR code based upload of waypoints re Task 1

  • Plan out full path for waypoints Aidan Bowers (Deactivated) (SysInt’s already made comp-sim plan)

April 22nd

Comp flightline (if possible) run through

April 29th

1 week before comp - full systems check & second full comp flightline run through

April 2nd
