Noise Signature

The noise abatement strategy for our drone during Task 2 for our operation is to fly the drone at the maximum permitted height of 400 ft. Increasing the height at which the drone is flown will require more power and subject the rotorcraft to more wind which will require additional correction, but will result in an exponentially lower noise signature compared to regular operation.

Additionally, larger, slower propellers have been mounted to reduce the individual RPM of each motor and reduce the noise frequency.

These 2 approaches will allow for the drone to fly quieter while not compromising on its ability to fly at the speed required to track the intruder.
