Team Traditions
Overview
A collection of the stuff we do as a team. I fully expect it to evolve over time as we blow more stuff up.
Cheers
Effective 5/08/2022, the first official team cheer was given:
"On 3 a 1,2,3 - pineapple"This occurred as a result of Sahil hating pineapples on pizza. However, when faced with the possibility the team couldn’t compete due to a paperwork screwup, he said that he would endorse pineapples on pizza if we were able to compete. Permission was granted, and Sahil endorsed it.
At the same competition, Sahil also said that he would consume a pineapple pizza if the drone did not crash at the end of the event. While the drone collided with a barrel, the drone landed in one piece and once again, the prospect of hailing the mighty pineapple is believed to have improved the team’s chances of not crashing. (There is no way we should have not crashed - Sahil)
Thus, when in doubt, simply muttering the word “pineapple” brings good luck to the aircraft.
Mascot
Pineapple on Pizza was a long term food debate on the team beginning in 2021 ish. Members are known to possess strong opinions about this matter.
Sometime in July 2022, Sahil impulse bought a pineapple plush from amazon after randomly hopping on to a firmware voice call. Though it was much smaller than he imagined, it was decreed to be the official mascot of the team. @Gordon Fountain (Deactivated) suggested “Pizza” to be the official name of the mascot to which no one objected, with @Brielle Chenier (Deactivated) drawing an arrow to it in the bay and referring to it as “Tomato”. To this day, no one knows what the mascot is called…
The pineapple has become a stable mascot of WARG and has been photographed on numerous airframe’s we’ve put together!
Twin Era
This infamous era started in September of 2025 when a certain individual (twin) started calling everyone his twin. Leadership started referring to other individuals on the team, as twin. Twin started calling the current directors twin, who then incessantly called other twins their twin.
Twin was even branded on twin’s competition drone, Valkyrie (twincopter) with the word twin on the top of its avionics lid. To this day, twin is a significant component of all twins' vocabulary.
