Allowing Mistakes

Allowing people to make mistakes in certain situations is a part of leadership, but should be handled with care!

As a leader (of any role in the team) you may see things in which you disagree with. With respect to Resolving Engineering Disagreements when we are rushed on time and the potential mistake is small it is extremely reasonable to allow mistakes to occur. During situations in which we have time inducing a discussion and prevent the mistake as described at the end of On Mistakes is critical!

If you’re an advisor this is espeacilly true. You know how to do everything well and you’ve brought things to where they are now. But you’ve learned everything there is to learn, you need to let go control and let others make their own mistakes and learn!
