Lead Offboarding Process

Overview

Audience: WARG leadership.

If you would like to step down from WARG leadership, please complete the items in this document. Stepping down may require another member to be promoted in your place: Lead Promotion Process

Please plan several months in advance to ensure a smooth transition.

Stepping Down Process

Process:

  1. Discuss your desire to step down with the directors and other subteam leads in your subteam (if applicable)

    1. Please refer to Lead Term Guidelines when making your decision

    2. Ideally, this is done around the start and end of each term during director/subteam lead syncs or director syncs, however, this can be done anytime. Your directors are here to talk to you!!

  2. Notify the directors and other subteam leads in your subteam (if applicable) of your decision to step down at the end of the current term

    1. Ideally, this is done within 4 weeks into the term

      1. We recognize life is chaotic by nature and as such just notify directors as soon as possible

  3. Directors add the decision to step down as a topic in the upcoming leads meeting

  4. Announce the decision to step down in the leads meeting

  5. Announce the decision to step down to WARG members

    1. This can be done in Discord and/or a subteam meeting (if applicable)

  6. Transfer knowledge to the other subteam leads and/or directors

  7. Remove administration permissions

    1. specifically github administration permissions

    2. this is done to just reduce exposure to potential issues

  8. Directors organize an exit interview with you to discuss thoughts on how to improve WARG in the future

  9. If you are willing to participate in WARG as an advisor, the directors can assign you the Advisor role

    1. Director Advisor, Leads Advisor, and/or [subteam name] Advisor roles may be assigned depending on which position you are stepping down from
