ELRS Gemini

ELRS gemini is a control / telemetry scheme developed by the developers of Express LRS. It transmits the same information on two distinct frequencies, allowing the receiver to pick and choose the received signal with the best quality.

This means that individual frequency interference is rejected better, but also allows for data to be transmitted in reverse order, meaning that time-varying interference is rejected better as well.

WARG’s gemini board

WARG has made a it’s own gemini board! It’s pretty sick.

Interfaces

  • Power through xt60

  • Antennas connected through u.fl connectors, or u.fl to SMA/RP-SMA adapters

  • PWM Fan headers available for both 1 and 2 transmitters.

Competition spec gemini hardware

For competition, the Gemini board will be connected to an EP2 wireless relay (EP2 since it has a soldered ceramic tower antenna, and therefore less things to break)

The enclosure needs to be rain / light splash resistant (so no openings at the top of the case, side louvres or bottom cutouts are ok), fans need to be mounted and pointed towards the semtech transceivers (with room for air to move in/out of the space), and the only external interfaces visible should be SMA/RP-SMA connectors, USB debug port, and xt-60 for power. someone please verify this

All other components (fans, ep2, etc) will be internal. do we need any visible debug LED’s?
