Onboarding Process

If a large number of members join the Operations team and there are not enough roles to give to people, an onboarding process must exist.

Questions

  1. Will it be only one central onboarding process, like a bootcamp? Or will it have specialized challenges fitting to its respective role?

  2. How would the onboarding process would work for roles like photographer, flight-test liaisons, and such?

Role Challenge Ideas

Finance Manager / Accounts: A possible idea is asking how would one operate the ledger, and which account to withdraw the funds from and maybe doing some calculations. For example, “If the mechanical team wants to purchase $450.00 dollars worth of carbon fiber, which account would you withdraw from within the ledger?”

Mercher Designer: One possible idea for this is being given a folder with pictures, the WARG logo and maybe other little icons/symbols. The new Operations member will be allowed to use any tool, and the challenge would be to create a cool design for merch. Maybe simplify by allowing the new member to draw it out??

Inventory Manager: Before challenging the new Operations member, they will understand how the inventory in the WARG bay is set up. A possible challenge question is “Given a motor and a wrench that had been left overnight by a forgetful member, where would you return these?”
