Custom Motor Controller

Principle Objective:

  • Design a custom motor controller for our rotorcraft vehicle, Project VANGUARD

Requirements:

  1. The system shall be able to accomodate 24V

    1. Stems from being able to accommodate a 6s battery

  2. The system shall be capable of supplying currents of up to 40 A continuous

    1. Requirement stems from Motor Calculations

  3. The system should fit into a small form factor to be used on the arms of the frame

  4. The system should not get hot (lol)

  5. The system shall utilize an RC-Servo PWM control interface

Goals:

Rev 1:

  • This system will use an off-board MCU (preferably STM32)

    • No need to worry about logic-level voltage line (5V/3V3)

  • The system will accommodate requirements (1) and (2)

Rev 2:

  • TBD given results from Rev 1
