4 Bar Linkage End Effector, Robot Gripper Animation

Idea uses linkages to “cinch” object from the sides to secure it in an upright position

  • gears and worm might be heavy

  • but the linkages themselves could be pretty light

  • merging into landing gear

  • look into → how hard is it for a drone to land directly on top of a target

Idea:

  • no container, just landing gear and arms, perhaps with bottom support coming in at the end? Like closing the landing thing

  1. Land directly on top of device

  2. “Cinch” in sides, fixing device in vertical place hopefully

  3. Support from bottom ?

OR using the top photo but with longer “feet”

  • drone holds a “container” which doubles as landing gear and arms

  1. Land directly in front of the device

  2. “hug” the device

  3. pull the device into the container, still hugging it

springy joints:

  • idea is to use “morphable” linkages that aren’t rigid

    • but still resistive

  • these linkages would be pushed (by the main actuator) and mold to the shape? who knows

  • this one would go down from the top

scoopy hand thing:

  • using the claw idea, but instead of claws they’re literally sharp slabs of something
