Antenna Tracker

Drawings and DXFs

@Arjun Mandair

Task Description

Create the drawings and DXFS for the Sheet Metal Components utilized for the Servo Mount. Please put these in WARG_CAD\COMP2024\Antenna Tracker\Yaw-And-Pitch Antenna Tracker\Drawings and DXFs

In order to waterjet aluminum parts we need a file called a dxf, it essentially gives the machine the outline of a part that looks like this:

Need a DXF of flattened view of:

ANTENNA_TRACKER_SERVO_MOUNT_01_BASEPLATE

ANTENNA_TRACKER_SERVO_MOUNT_03_STAND

  • These just require opening the part (not drawing) and “save as” dxf, please uncheck the “show bend lines” option, for the bent part please make sure the dxf is of the flattened version

  • Please name these with the part thickness added at the start of the file name (you can use the measure tool to get this, give thickness in inches please)

We also need a drawing for AANTENNA_TRACKER_SERVO_MOUNT_03_STAND.

ANTENNA_TRACKER_SERVO_MOUNT_03_STAND will just need a drawing that shows the location of the bends, please make a note on the drawing that we need one bent one way and one bent the other way (the part was mirrored in the assembly level and we need one for each side as seen below. See the example in for an idea of how to do this.

Drawing review

This looks really good, a few small comments:

  • Something is broken in your flattened view, I think you flattened it, added the view, and unflattened the part and the references got broken when it unflattened. Look into how to properly add flattened views

  • This is the drawing that you need the bend direction note, just “NOTE: ONE PART NEEDS BEND UP, THE SECOND NEEDS BEND DOWN”

  • remove dual dimensions per new CAD guidelines (updated drawing format coming soon, haven’t had time yet)

Otherwise looks great!
