Laptop Selection for GUI

Description of Change

This RFC deals with selecting an appropriate laptop for running the GUI on competition day.

Implementation

Currently the goal is to use the WARG laptop for running the GUI. The operating system must be Windows. A secondary laptop can be used in case the WARG laptop is not compatible for whatever reason. This has been determined to be Anthony’s laptop. Both models are listed below:

WARG Laptop

Anthony’s Laptop

Reason for Change

A laptop must be selected to ensure that the GUI can run smoothly and efficiently for competition purposes. Laptop selection will also lead in better logistics management as we can determine what case/carrying method we need to implement for transportation purposes.

This change should be implemented to ensure the team has a better idea of GUI compatibility on the specified Laptop.

A case would be needed to transport the laptop. Costs will be determined after the laptop has been selected.

Changes should not affect any deadlines as both laptops are available for our use.

Alternatives and Recommendations

If the specs don’t check out for either laptop, then we would have to research more possibilities. Perhaps Megan’s laptop (https://www.amazon.ca/Zephyrus-Gaming-GeForce-Windows-GA401IV-DS91-CA/dp/B0863D2QVT) could be an alternate choice.
