What we need: Voltage Regulator, Non-adressable LED strip, diodes

Product Features:  

  • Size 2835 diodes , 0.33” between each LED  8mm flex, cut points available every 1” (3 LEDs)  

  • Available in custom pre-cut lengths or full 12m reels  Class 2 DC plug-in connectors (3.5 x 1.3 mm) or screw terminal end connectors available  

  • Adhesive backing mounts to almost any flat surface 

  • Minimal heat production, no IR or UV output  

  • Dimmable with compatible systems  Rated to last up to 100,000 hours  CSA C22.2 No. 250.0-08/ANSI/ UL Standard 1598, 8750  

  • To be installed in accordance with NEC, using Class 2 12V DC power supply!

Calculations:

  • Resistors:

    • Power Supply Voltage Range: 5V

      Forward Voltage: 3.3V

      Desired LED Current: 15mA

      Resistance= (Power Supply V - Forward Voltage)/Desired LED Current

      • R=(5V-3.3V)/(15mA)=113.34 Ohms

      • With 100 Ohm Resistor: I=(5V-3.3V)/100= 17mA Max mA=20mA

  • March 13 2022, researching components needed for the led strip

  • March 15 2022, agreed to use option 2, calculated LED resistance and found smd resistors. Finalized part selection for the project, awaiting response from EE Leads.

  • March 19 2022, had meeting with EE team lead and finalized schematic

  • March 20 2022, small revisions and generated gerber files for production
