Review the documentation on how to get a basic drone license. You don’t need get a license, but the information is very valuable to learn. (you can find some starting resources #info on discord)
Learn about the standard components on typical drones. This includes: - Motors (Brushless DC Motors) & ESCs (PWM, DSHOT) - Radios (Transmitters [Tx] and Receivers [Rx]). We use ELRS & CRSF modules - Antennas. Polarization, interference, frequencies, directional vs. non-directional - Flight controllers. We have a pixhawk and minipix, both of which are running Ardupilot - Batteries. Chemistries, capacity, C rating, and how to charge them. You can often find lots of good information at https://oscarliang.com/, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX3eufnI7A2I7IkKHZn8KSQ, or by looking up FPV drone build tutorials. Don't be afraid to ask lots of questions, there’s a ton to learn here. We expect that you won’t know everything for a while.
