Co-op Feedback

Overview

Internship reviews should be held once a month, with the exception of the final month where the CECA review is the final review. Reviews help calibrate the intern and the manager to what’s up, get our blockers and frustrations, and make sure they align with our expectations of a coop student.

Coop Performance Feedback

It is imperative to give the coop constructive feedback. Use the sandwich method when delivering feedback: good, bad, good (it really works). For every positive and negative feedback point, provide a specific example (and if applicable, what should be done differently). Have a pen and paper with you, use a gentle touch, and set them up for success.

Recommended Performance Feedback Criteria

CECA’s evaluation is a good model to follow. Fill this out beforehand (you can keep it brief) and make sure there are specific examples. Set up a call with them to go over the feedback

Survey Questions

Survey Questions to ask the intern:

  1. Is there any feedback you have for me as a coop manager?

  2. Are there enough tasks to do every day? How is task planning?

  3. How are the communications between you and leads? Are they impacted by leads onsite/offsite?

  4. Any other thoughts?
