Check out Conops for AEAC! Get involved in comp syncs for discussion https://www.aerialevolution.ca/annual-student-competition/
We decided to not do SUAS since it costs time, manpower, money, late conops.
Summary
Happening May 9-11 in Medicine Hat, Alberta
Aiming to do a full simulation Nov 8
Phase one January 15
Phase 1 Proposal, 2 is competition
Task 1
Detect a fire in the distance (red balloons ), Identify hotspots (IR beacons), Visually identify what started the fire
Task 2
Transport water from a source tank to the locations of the fire hotspots and deposit
Successful Flight test on Saturday!

First flight on new drone!
Big step since made changes without testing.
Some hiccups but they got ironed out.
Another test next Saturday:
Range/Speed test: https://discord.com/channels/776618956638388305/1287116296609202336
Obstacle avoidance test: https://discord.com/channels/776618956638388305/1283890207287935018
Lots of prep for these, get involved in the threads above if interested

validating buck
fixing efuses
Work session next week Sunday @11AM in the bay
Plan:
Assemble LED boards
Assemble RPi Rev B board
Validate tracking antenna
EFS workshops:
Not directly EE but still can be useful
Sept 30th: Datasheets and Protocols, led by Sahil Kale
Oct 7th: Job Search & Interview Strategy, co-led by Christopher Chung and Sahil Kale
Chris is an EE advisor
All workshops will take place from 8pm to 10pm in E7 5353
Lack of pilots next term - Reach out if off stream and interested
Consider the commitment.

Bootcamp Updates
Congratulations to Ahmed Osman and Sam Zhang for completing the bootcamp!!
Minor changes for future bootcampers:
Reviews will now be conducted over discord voice chat and are meant to serve as a discussion about the boards design and possible improvements
Please ping Parker Lawrence-Valeriani when you’re ready for review
Feel free to send any questions you may have!
Best of luck!!

Canceled, now part of RPi Interface Rev C - Electrical - WARG (atlassian.net)
green tasks need to be done → need a lot of new components for this board, anyone is welcome to take them, but I actually need these done

Layout in need of revamp
New stackup will be
L1 - SIG/PWR
L2 - SIG/PWR
L3 - Uninterrupted GND
L4- SIG/PWR
Moving all signal traces from L3 to L2
Will create isolated GND beneath buck on L2 and keep all routing away from it
Looking to use many more via transitions to ensure that the signal traces do not lose reference.
Looking to remove some of the decoupling caps on the buck to save space
Looking to source a smaller linear regulator for the 12V-5V step down to save space as the current one is overkill based on the required power draw from it.

Potential new project: Test Automation
Needs Assessment (comparing to the manual test procedure we have rn):
1. characterize our custom buck converter’s performance.
2. understand our designs more, help ee members learn
Load transient test is helpful on identifying issues if downstream board is brownout during flight test
Knowing efficiency of the bucks
3. efs running out of work to do
Potential new project: Test Automationdocument pegasus harness diagram

connector part numbers
wire lengths
wire guage
good for new members to learn about our system
Action Items
This section is here for completeness. If a new task is assigned in a meeting, it will be added here.
order 28 or 30 gauge wire
order thinner solder
