Discussion regarding the EFS direction in winter 2024
Will be similar to last term, we will be doing of the shelf stuff paralleled with zero pilot work in order to fulfill the needs of the competition.
The main projects:(and each main project should be in charge by a lead, make sense)
ZeroPilot
drivers
fix sbus(m1)
Le Kang - SD card
Stanley Tang - neo m.8 gps, this is the driver for tracking antenna and also I think he moved to developing the driver for VN300
Polly Liu - IMU
Mahir Mahota - Airspeed
Fola Fatola - Altimeter
Tom Chiu - Rangefinder
attitude manager
Aiden was running the team - we better find a PM for AM
Anthony Bertnyk - map input channels
Anthony Bertnyk - working on FBWA?
Roni Kant - send output channels
path manager
Neha Srivastava - working on arch still?
Neha Srivastava - fixed wing auto take off
Liang Li - processing and waypoints
telemetry manager
Bringing up Yarema Dzulynsky to the PM of TM
Checking in with the TM Team
Is Rahual still on the team?
Yarema Dzulynsky - basic tm
ZP validation
Validation image - Ethan is on that, check if he is onsite this term
SIL
Mostafa Hussein to PM
meet with team to discuss goals and progress
HIL
check in with members(still on the team and on a task)
Yash Karthik
Patrick Yuan
Sarim Muqeet
Tracking Antenna
STM version
Stanley is playing with VN300
Yuchen also part of the team
Hardy - thinking of joining the team and pushing the progress
Arduino
Aryan will be offsite this term, which will add difficulty to his development
Ayoung is onsite again - remembering her working on the python script
COTS
gemini
take over testing
rtk gps
ask assignees for progress
Yash Karthik
Ethan Leung
can sensor board
Hardy will make an architecture and part selection, and show the solution to the ee team for validation. Then the code development can be handed to someone else on the team
Notes:
Zeropoilt should move on to milestone 3
following the milestone structure: Milestones
if we fuck it up, we revert to the prev milestone
Setting up the Project Managers is pretty important
Hardy: Feel like the tracking antenna has been stuck on driver developing
Aadi: Keeps expanding the COTS stuff because this is how efs contributes to the comp
Write down all the available tasks, track the state of the progress and check if the person is still on the task
Recap the people’s availability onsite
Get some new tasks in hand before the start of term is good
EFS people can do the part selection to the CAN board, do an architecture and show to ee member to complete the board. ask daniel for more detail - Hardy can take the job of making the architecture
Bootcamper onboarding session should be divided among the leads, Chris will be available to respond to questions in the thread, but the voice chat will be only available after 9. Keep the session online. Update the bootcamp doc such that it they pin the leads instead of the names.
If we run out of tasks we can ask help from directors. Telling them we have no task is better than giving them useless boring task.
