  • this month will mostly be R&D. Looking into manufacturing processes

  • more tasks on the way. Leads and directors need to scope out requirements and specific details

• Houston

  • Houston is our test airframe. We (mostly) test various sensors and electronics on Houston before putting it on the main drone

  • some tasks relating to making a new Houston airframe coming soon!

• Weatherproofing Pegasus 2

  • High-complexity task, involves CAD design and will require R&D into different manufacturing methods. I want this to look clean as possible so please spend some time on it.

  • Some ideas… thermoforming? Fiber glass layup? Layup with another type of material?

  • Open to have multiple people work on this, more exchange of ideas

• Motor mounts with shields 🛡️

  • During mech comp. debrief, we saw UOFT had shields integrated into their motor mount. This a cool idea that I think we should try out (more like we should steal it)

  • CAD and 3D printing task

• Researching potential airfoils for our fixed-wing

  • R&D, learn about different airfoil shapes, document them.

• Houston Pixhawk mount

  • Design a proper mounting solution for Pixhawk (our flight controller) on the Houston drone

  • Prefer someone onsite to take this task, will require taking dimensions of mounting holes
