Introduction

Equity, diversity, and inclusion, also known as belonging or EDI is a priority for WARG! Embracing diversity in team composition strengthens the fabric of innovation, fostering an environment where different perspectives and backgrounds converge to create groundbreaking solutions. It is great for our community, engineering outcomes, and sponsors love it for good reason! WARG has always implicitly promoted these concepts via Team Charter and Culture which is clearly evident by our History. This document’s purpose is to explicitly define some of these policies.

Recruitment

Any University of Waterloo student is welcome to join our team through our process in Bootcamper Onboarding! We do not have any sort of experience minimums or interview requirement. We attempt to recruit from as many different avenues as we can to achieve diversity within the team!

Negative Social Incidents

Negative social incidents are infrequently EDI related. These are handled by the leadership team with respect to Reporting Negative Social Incidents, Member Definition, and Team Charter.
