All Components

All components present in our schematic libraries must have the following parameters:

  • Manufacturer 1

  • Manufacturer Part Number 1

  • Supplier 1

  • Supplier Part Number 1

BOM generation will experience difficulties/errors if any of these parameters are not present for a given component.

We strive to keep our libraries compact and concise. Provided below are the only additional parameters you need to include for common components such as chip resistors, MLCC capacitors, diodes, etc. If you are working with a “unique” component, please reach out to your lead to determine what additional parameters need to be included.

Chip Resistors

Naming convention for both the Design Item ID and Comment:

  • RES_[RESISTANCE]Ω_[PACKAGE]_[TOLERANCE]%

Convention for the Description:

  • RES [RESISTANCE] OHM ±[TOLERANCE]% [POWER RATING]W [PACKAGE]

The following parameters must also be included:

  • Value

  • Tolerance

  • Power Rating

  • Mounting Type

  • Package

Example: Consider an 0805 15kΩ chip resistor with a tolerance of ±5% and a power rating of 1/10W.

  • Design Item and Comment: RES_15kΩ_0805_5%

  • Description: RES 15K OHM ±5% 1/10W 0805

  • Value → 15kΩ

  • Tolerance → ±5%

  • Power Rating → 1/10W

  • Mounting Type → Surface Mount

  • Package → 0805
