Using the Signal Analyzer

Setting Up PulseView

  1. Download PulseView from sigrok (https://sigrok.org/wiki/Downloads )

  2. Run the Zadig executable from the downloaded sigrok folder that PulseView is in.

    1. There are 4 drivers Zadig can install: libusb-win32 is the driver that has worked so far.

    2. This will likely require you to restart your computer

  3. Plug in the signal analyzer to the computer and open PulseView

    1. The window should automatically find the analyzer:

       

  4. Connect the ground pin of the analyzer to the ground pin of the circuit or board you are testing.

  5. Connect the remaining channels of the analyzer to the pins you wish to read.

  6. Write signals to the pins and hit Run in PulseView to watch the signals:

PulseView Features:

Signal Frequency

To increase the frequency and number of samples taken use the drop down menus indicated below:

For accurate results, the frequency of the samples must be at least double the signal frequency.

Renaming Channels

To rename channels for ease of reading, click on the channel you want to re-name:

Saving, New, and Opening Files

Each PulseView session can be saved and re-opened using the top left buttons on the toolbar:
