Landing Gear
Several rough ideas (as of Sunday March 20), that include dowels, pvc, and 3D printed elements. - Megan (Atlas#0263 on discord)
Notes from bay session, Sunday March 20th:
About design C
PVC might be too bendy
Can put it at strategic angles so it’s strong in the axis that matters
If the bottom beam of PVC is interfering with the takeoff/landing, we can move it up on the leg so it still works on the barrel
The 3D printed brackets should definitely be attached on the arms
The beams should not be on a slanted angle (for length maximization + don’t want to put unexpected horizontal force on the arms)
Progress made
1/8 inch PVC sheet ordered from E3 machine shop. We will see how structurally sound it is when it arrives
Updates needed
What the length of the legs need to be to fit the grabber and all relevant components
