Molds for Composite Layups

Why use a mold?

Complex geometries are difficult to make without a 3D mold. While bending the carbon fiber panels made from a wet layup is possible (Ex: Pegasus’s cabin for AEAC 2024), it is very limited in how it can be used and predicting the exact shape is difficult. Molds will allow greater control over the shape and quality of a composite layup.
