Every term provides a new opportunity for team recruitment. As more senior members retire, its important that there is a consistent stream of enthusiastic recruits. This requires prior preparation. To ensure that we have necessary rooms booked, posters designed and printed, have social media campaigns ready, among other things. This document provides a guide each term as to what needs to be done before recruitment season, within the first week of school, and in the subsequent weeks to maximize recruitment and retention

Before the Term Begins

Before the term begins, the following should be completed

  • Poster design/updating for upcoming season

  • Ensure an adequate number of posters are printed to be placed in various buildings across campus, with a special focus on Engineering buildings

  • Determining dates for information sessions, both in-person and online

  • Booking rooms as required for information sessions

  • Prepare Discord, email, Linkedin posts to be spammed sent to everyone

  • Prepare slides for information session

In the first two weeks of the term

  • Determine data of SDC fair and ensure adequate representation of each team at the fair

  • Use connections to get a spot at the WUSA Clubs Fair

  • Place posters across campus buildings

  • Make Discord, Linkedin posts and ask respective faculty heads/directors to spam members with our email template

  • Ensure members from each team are committed to be present for both in-person and online info session

  • Run info sessions, other details as requested and required
