Media Ingest Folder

Editable by: anyone signed into their UW account.
Purpose: If you capture any media for WARG please upload it here
- Make a folder for your photos and name it beginning with the date.
  - Dates should follow the date scheme in Data Handling
  - The name can also include a brief description after the date though this is optional
- Internally the operations team will sort the files in the media ingest folder into the official media folder.
  - Operations team is responsible for logging into the uwaterloo account and moving the media to the “Media Folder”.
  - Because this folder is editable by a large group of people, files shouldn’t remain in this folder for long periods of time.
- Can be used for more than just photos/videos in a pinch as per Data Handling .

Editable by: WARG internal Onedrive only.
Purpose: This is meant to be view only to show off our media.
- When sharing high quality organized images around we use this media folder.

Meeting Recordings

Viewable By: anyone signed into their UW account.
Purpose: save meetings for those unable to attend. As of S24 this folder is mostly unused.

First Time Usage Information

If you have never opened a piece of WARG media from these folders on your personal university of waterloo outlook account you must use the links here. After you have clicked the general link found here at least once then people will be able to link you individual files and subfolders within these high level folders and you will automatically have the permissions you need. If you do not click the general links here then people will have to manually share individual files and subfolders with you which is a massive pain for us! Essentially just click the general links here while signed into your UW outlook account once then you will be able to click any links to any subdirectories and it will just work!

Future Improvements

We need a way to make folders viewable by anyone (people outside of UW) in onedrive? we want to share photos with competition sometimes with other teams. not sure if this is possible bc university has media release policy or whatever? its interesting tho bc our confluence is public and thats chill, SDC knows bout our public confluence bc i link em pages all the time lol.
