When the team was restarted in 2021 it was the cornerstone project. Now in 2024 ZeroPilot is a learning only non-competition intent project as defined in 2024-2025 Program Outline . This is because we are leveraging COTS flight controllers so we can focus on other aspects of designing our system to keep competition performance high. We simply lack the skilled hardware and firmware developers and testing bandwidth to really make a custom flight controller to solve for competition, instead we’re focusing on CAN Integration 2025 , RPi Interface Rev C , & other peripheral based projects instead that are much more achievable. The sponsorship package and external expectations of the team should be updated for clarity as discussed in this convo.
