EE F24 Interview Questions Released
Intro
These are the outlines of the questions we used in the interviews released publicly for anyone to study now that the interviews are all over. We added more details and formality when presenting/verbalizing these questions in interviews so these are just our notes. These questions will not be used verbatim for future WARG interviews.
Questions
Let’s say a motor can be modelled by a 10Ω resistive load. If the motor draws 2A, how much power does the motor consume?
(Interviewer draws voltage divider circuit) What does this circuit do? Are you familiar with this circuit? What’s it called?
Assume Vin is 10V, and Rtop & Rbot are both 50Ω, what would the output voltage Vout be when no load is connected?
Let’s Say the Rtop and Rbot are not equivelant and could be different values, could you solve for Vout/Vin in terms of the two resistor values?
Let’s say I wanted to use this voltage/resistor divider to provide the stable output voltage Vout of 5V to a 50Ω resistive load. What critical issues would this circuit face in doing so?
What is a low dropout regulator?
What are applications of an LDO?
Have you heard of a buck converter? Tradeoffs between a buck converter and an LDO?
What is SPI and I2C, and what are some differences between the two?
What is UART?
Where would you want to use each of these?
Can you draw a non-inverting op-amp configuration?
What is the transfer function? Solve the transfer function using first principles
Does adding a load affect the transfer function?
