Airframe capable of ZP autopilot testing

Airframe to accept a variety of overstock motors

Airframe is easy to assemble and there are clear instructions on how to make an airframe

Electronics protected in the event of a nosedive / crash

 Assumptions

  • 3s 4000mah batteries (warg standard) [open to thoughts if cheap]

  • Zeropilot and at most a minipix

  • Regular ELRS control links + XBee for telemetry

    • Must be able to output SBUS

    • May also use SBUS to PWM converters

Notes

Must be able to carry either of:

  • Minipix

  • L5 nucleo

  • ZP3 PCB

in a way that does not risk damage during a crash or landing.

These are the boards we are testing on with the minipix as a backup if we need.

HIGHMEDIUM LOW

Minipix must be able to be mounted flat and in the center of the drone (does not do offset correction).

Someone will need to run autotune on the airframes.

Must be able to accept XBees + ELRS RX

Cheap(er) links that we have a lot of

Must be able to fly for at least 8 minutes

pilot will likely crash before then

Must be able to land without risking damage to airframe / electronics

Airframe is cheap (<15$ total) to manufacture

must accept 10 or 12” props (warg excess in the bay)

Must be able to accept:

  • gps (TBS neo m8)

  • IMU (BMX160)

  • Airspeed (regular I2C)

GPS + Imu near COR / COG of airframe

Airspeed sensor in clear air but also protected in case of a nosedive.
