Getting Started

To get started on mechanical, you need to get some software set up, and get familiar with the mechanical team’s workflow

  1. If you do not already have Solidworks 2024: Solidworks 2024 Installation or Update Guide

  2. Get PDM set up: Solidworks PDM Set Up

  3. Ensure you set your default part and drawing templates: Setting Solidworks Default Templates

  4. Read through this workflow document: Mech Design Workflow

  5. Review CAD Guidelines

  6. Start attending mechanical meetings, this is where you can be assigned tasks!
