Task Description

We need to mount our GPS to the wing. This is the GPS we have chosen https://holybro.com/products/m9n-gps. Currently on Pegasus, it's mounted with the legs. For Eclipse, we want to preserve the wing profile as much as possible so keeping it low profile will be helpful. Brainstorming some ideas would be good but general location should be towards the end/tip of the wing:

Initial Design

  • Designed to be inserted into spar and mounted with two fasteners.

    • Can be changed to be press fit in both axes, not just one. Would be just one screw instead.

  • GPS mounts in odd mounting pattern but will be secured using the four holes

  • Will be 3D printed and the GPS plate will be outside of the spar.

CAD Review 1

  • Looks really good, approved by me

  • I’ve updated the both wing assemblies with it

  • New update has the mount act like the spacers and the gps will be under the monokote

    • Discussed in discord and Nathan and Daniel are ok with not having access to it

    • Ensure the gps is not touched while monokote is being applied

  • GPS circular part will be taped to the tab on the spacer

CAD Review 2

  • Saw that you accounted for the fact that we’re switching to 1/8” ribs but the length was off by a bit

  • I just fixed it since I already had it opened so no need to make any changes

  • Good work!
