• Materials for new mold are ordered and will be ready to do layups by Saturday likely.

Cabin

Cabin is looking great! Looks like we’re ready to order CF tubes from composites canada and get started on making layups for the first revision! I will do a final look over the CAD tomorrow and then we should be good to go.

  • Length of the cabin was updated to 330 mm

  • Clearance holes for the mounts were added to the base plate

  • Evan will work on getting drawings done so we can manufacture PEEK inserts

• @Georgia Westerlund Added aero-panels to cabin assembly

  • Created a bent version of the front/rear panels to be included in the assembly (avail. in PDM)

  • Added all panels to the cabin assembly and mated them to the outside of the mounts

    • Used 20 deg bend angle was chosen since the 30 degree angle resulted in the cabin extending beyond the edge of the airframe base plate → the angle can be modified easily as needed

  • Added M3 clearance holes to the side panels in accordance with the mount placement

  • One thing to consider: we were originally going to have the front/rear panels bend into the cabin, but this may be difficult since the carbon fiber tubing and mounts are so close to the end. Need to discuss this further.

• Next steps:

  • Cabin and cargo bay layout (seats, cargo hold, windows, etc)

  • Door integration for cargo and passenger bays

  • Will look into assigning and outlining tasks for these by next meeting

• Don’t want a separate section but do we wanna start looking at transport jig?
