F24 Progress

• Derek working with the team on new ZP architecture

  • Old ZP path manager is still being worked on

  • All other efforts focused on getting milestone 1 done

  • Had a lot of trouble debugging → new architecture is more futureproof

  • Old arch development stalled, and new architecture is in progress

  • Old ZP:

    • developed up to Milestone 2

    • works on nucleo boards but not EE ZP boards

    • difficult to debug, and generally unpleasant to work with so dev was very slow

  • New ZP:

    • working on Milestone 1 (basic flight, foundational rtos arch)

    • drivers - RC, motor, watchdog, message queue, SD card

    • managers - system, attitude

    • final system integration (putting everything in main.cpp), and run on foam plane

• New tuning

  • Path forward is to talk to team about it at first EFS meeting

  • Explain why this is critical

  • Learning tuning will increase their odds of coming to competition

  • Explain why this is a good opportunity

  • Setup an environment for knowledge transfer and for progress

    • ZP flight testing → are people interested? what is the timeline?

    • State of CAN periphs → ones relevant to comp (just LED system) and to Eclipse

    • Come up with deadlines and objectives to present in new comp/eclipse arch sync

    • Other leads can give you input on the timeline

    • Talk to Hardy about CAN stuff too

    • Figure out a way to split work between leads

    • Try to write things down if possible
