Other Announcements

@Smile Khatri

  • @Neha Srivastava is up to train next safety cap and is stepping down EOT. If you are interested in becoming a safety cap let us know. Commitment is minimal and mainly involves maintaining datasheets and helping with Bay cleanups once in a while.

  • Another reminder to please check everything on PDM everytime you’re done working on it for that session, we have lots of parts that have been checked out for a while. At the end of the term, or the next time someone needs the part, I (Alison) will force check-in everything that has been checked out for a while, this will mean you will lose any updates to those files.

    • Additionally, please follow CAD guidelines

    • makes everyone’s lives easier, prevents parts/assemblies from breaking, prevents mistakes in manufacturing

  • This will be the last mech meeting of the term! Doesn’t mean we’re not working on stuff, stay tuned in discord for updates. Good luck on your exams!

Electronics Cases

@Smile Khatri

  • Updates on the FPV camera mount? We want to have it on Pegasus ideally by the end of this week. Lmk if you need support on this

Antenna Tracker

@Arjun Mandair

Issues with PDM

  • For some reason, baseplate and assembly rolled back. Ran into several assembly issues with mates and dimensioning.

  • This only occurred when I checked out the assembly. Baseplate now inherits holes that were removed prior to @Justin Liu's and my changes.

  • @Justin Liu will contact you within the next day

  • I don’t understand why this happened!

Another Issue

  • Following the above issues of checking out the assembly and mates breaking, I made the assembly fully defined, and fixed broken parts

  • However, after checking in my changes, the assembly did not change whatsoever. My changes are now gone.

  • TLDR: My PDM is not working, and I can’t make changes

Next Steps

  • Sheet metal has been cut. Going to countersink and assemble tomorrow

  • Dimensioning seems right. Verified with my changes prior to their deletion after checking into PDM.

  • The servo back holder is extremely thin and I do want to remake. Will determine after Antenna Tracker is assembled.

  • Thank you everybody for the help! Good luck on exams!

Frame

  • Prototype landing gear parts made, will test on Sunday

  • Houston landing gear assembly this Friday

Cabin

  • Layups were made last Friday. We have enough layups to make the front and back cabin panels, and door frames. Front and back panels have been handed off to E3 to waterjet. Side panel on track for completion next week

New Tasks

@Smile Khatri

  • Optical Flow Sensor mount for Pegasus (due by this Friday)

    • includes 3D printing, understanding printing tolerances

    • Onsite taker preferred but open to let offsite people if no one can take the task
