2023-08-17 Director Sync, Post EOT Leads meeting

Attendees

  • @Megan Spee

  • @Anthony Luo

  • @Daniel Puratich

Topics

  • Comp selection

    • self nom went over well

    • pair this with leads compiling a shortlist of their ‘top 15’ or something people

      • may need to normalize this against how many leads there are per subteam

      • ends up being ‘who gets the most votes’

    • will work on document for criteria, make selfnom form, etc

  • projects…

    • directors shouldn’t overload projects

    • directors should be there to provide enough reality oversight/ technical oversight when subteam leads have an issue or project

  • CFD and sim - megan to drive this

  • RF stuff - daniel to drive this

  • things anni is worried about

    • EE stuff on comp frame

      • wiring and stuff needs to be light - put in similar amounts of time and effort into minimizing weight as mech as into the build

    • onsite autonomy

      • do more onsite work - get new members onsite at the same time as leads, etc

from @Megan Spee , not related to EOT leads

  • Clarity on director role (episode 500)

    • I will literally make a document this time, because I keep forgetting/missing things/not carrying out director duties/ posthumously realizing I wasn’t doing something I should be doing

    • these may include

      • monitoring discord every day and replying/ fact checking things against confluence, common sense, etc

      • attending subteam meetings and/or reading meeting minutes, ask questions for clarity. this can be done in project syncs, but the point is that everything the subteams are doing, you should have a handle on it

      • make sure that the quality of work is a high standard. (set a good example).

        • for example, connect people (team members, subteam leads) to experts in the field to get advice.
