Sponsorship outreach request

Dear [company],

My name is [name] and I am a student at the Waterloo Aerial Robotics Group (WARG). We're a design team at the University of Waterloo that focuses on researching and building autonomous aircraft fully from scratch.

We were wondering if [company] would be interested in a sponsorship for our design team, as we are in need of a large supply of [item], and in return we would be happy to acknowledge your contribution on the aircraft we build, our website, social media as well as our merchandise we wear at competition.

WARG has a large emphasis on teaching other students at UWaterloo how to build fixed wing aircraft, quadcopters and many other kinds of drones. Furthermore, we participate in an annual student competition against other universities in Canada where we build aircraft to tight requirements.

[Write paragraph about what we’re looking for and how it’s related to WARG. Here’s two examples]:

  • We're specifically looking for 10x4.5 propellers that we hope to use to test our own custom built flight controller, ZeroPilot. The software that runs on these flight controllers is also written in-house, built with FreeRTOS. We'd love to share more details if you're interested.

  • We're specifically looking for [escs]. At WARG, we use our custom built flight controller that runs our own software, and as we continue to test our software and hardware, we'd love to have more ESCs that we can rely on. We run our software on our ZeroPilot board - which is based on the STM32 ARM microcontroller. We'd love to share more details of you are interested.

I have included a sponsorship package as an attachment to this email that has more information about our design team, our mission and our goals. Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any other questions.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best,
[name]

Recruitment Outreach for Past/Current Employers

Dear [Contact],

I hope this email finds you well. My name is [name] and I am a [position] at the Waterloo Aerial Robotics Group (WARG).

If you know people who’ve also worked at the company you’re reaching out to:

  • I wanted to reach out and see if [Company] is interested in running a recruitment event with WARG? A couple of other students from WARG ([past people]) have worked there as well in the past, and I know others would definitely be interested. This could potentially open a channel of recruitment for experienced members.

Otherwise

  • I wanted to reach out and see if [Company] is interested in running a recruitment event with WARG? I’ve spoken to other members and there’s interest from others who would love to learn more about [PRODUCT?] and we’d love to share resumes of interested members. This could potentially open a channel of recruitment for WARG students.

Please let me know if this is something you would be interested in.

Thank you!

Travis-CI Request More Credits

Hello,

I’m Dhruv from the University of Waterloo Aerial Robotics Group (WARG). We are a design team at the University of Waterloo that specializes in making autonomous aircraft. I am messaging you to request credits so we can run CI tests on our open source public repositories, namely ZeroPilot-SW (https://github.com/UWARG/ZeroPilot-SW) and computer-vision-python (https://github.com/UWARG/computer-vision-python).

I am the project lead for ZeroPilot, which has been in active development for over a year. The project uses the BSD-4 license (https://github.com/UWARG/ZeroPilot-SW/blob/devel/LICENSE.md) meaning it conforms to the OSD specifications. ZeroPilot is not a commercial project and we do not provide commercial services or sell paid versions of ZeroPilot.

As for our computer-vision-python repository, it has also been in active development for over a year and follows the BSD-3 license (https://github.com/UWARG/computer-vision-python/blob/main/LICENSE). Additionally, the repository is not a commercial project and we do not sell paid versions of the repository.

Account Name: http://travis-ci.com/github/UWARG

Requested Credits: 25,000

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Thank you,

Cisco Sponsorship Email

(I had a contact with them before so would need to be changed for other sponsors)

Hello,

Thank you again for your support at EngHack! If Cisco is interested in other sponsorship opportunities, Waterloo Aerial Robotics Group (WARG) is looking for sponsors for our 2021-2022 season. We are a student design team at the University of Waterloo and build autonomous aircraft to compete in the Unmanned Systems Canada Competition. This year, we are building a drone to pick up and deposit devices in specific locations and autonomously follow a person's path and map their movements.

If this is of interest, we would love to join a call with you and answer any questions.

 Thanks!
