2024-04-08 Leads Meeting

@Alison Thompson

talking about comp roster announcement on discord. the waitlist is not mentioned or described anywhere. - resolve this? @Daniel Puratich ?

Comments/ reviews on this process:

  • Far more chaotic than necessary

    • May be due to waitlist being news 2 days after

  • in the future: information about possible comp people (french, licenses, whether or not they are willing to drive, trailer etc)

  • leads and directors and pings asking if you have a drivers license etc was not good.

  • very uncoordinated.

the ‘comp roster reasoning’ document from Daniel is public, but does not reflect the updated list. Can’t be sending justification that is inconsistent.

Also, including some content in the reasoning document should have been a discussion of whether or not you should include. (making this public w/o proofreading it)

Handoff between directors was not smooth - passed from @Megan Spee to @Daniel Puratich with a change of roster strategy w/o being communicated clearly.

Inconvenient timing.

Action items

  • comp roster self nom form - add some specific questions. And provide context

    • speaking french - presentation level proficiency,

    • license -

      • 6 hours a day, details on trailer training, size of trailer, distance travelled

  • update the public documents that @Daniel Puratich published - also note the waitlist. edit document for clarity.

    • quite large gap in communicating actual competition state to the team.

    • not sure if non leads actually know what is going on

    • what changed, when it changed, what might change in the future, just make this as clear as possible. Explain initial list of 12.

      • this likely requires an announcement.

      • shuffling the order is an option but not emphasized. only used in desperate case

privatization / openness of comp situation:

  • private discussion likely beneficial to get people to be real/honest in a lead channel.

  • However disjoint between having leads in the waitlist channel be able to advocate for themselves, and non-leads unable to advocate.

    • Leads of respective members feeling they need to advocate on behalf of non-leads

Section at bottom of AEAC-facing list for ‘non comp attendees who have contributed’ for certificate.

  • pulling leads and PM names? @Georgia Vachon Westerlund

  • What about PMs who have retired, or new, or etc..? or not updated the roster?

    • leads can look over a list and add names if they are necessary

  • Some PMs onboarded informally - maybe undefined

    • leads should add them post-receiving-this-list-above

@Georgia Vachon Westerlund submission tonight - team logo, team description, team photo

@Georgia Vachon Westerlund tomorrow - submitting the information in team list to AEAC.

EE, EFS, Auto approved for co ops this summer
