A couple bullet points on the team’s general goals/focus points this week, and if there’s anything that is blocking your team.

Directors

  • FT support from Nathan (esp as we get into comp sims)

  • Ops support from Megan (team social, comp merch + stickers, comp logistics)

  • Anni helping out EFS flight test things (it will be awesome)

 

Autonomy

  • pathing and auto-landing

  • image labelling social

  • LTE encoding/decoding

 

EFS

  • preparing for the tracking antenna flight test with yagi antenna

  • debug lighting board

  • ELRS comp work with @Anthony Luo

  • zeropilot m2 integrations starting

 

EE

  • arduino tracking antenna review

  • shortening vtx system harnessing for signal integrity

  • can help with LED board things

 

Mechanical

  • Houston landing gear re-design

Comp sim next weekend on track?

  • yes (post aeac sync update)

EFS tasks coming to completion near comp sim. (+ announcement for software teams in general)

  • make sure the code you upload to the drone is good/functional!

  • have someone on the flight test team double check work

  • help new members ensure that flight software / auto pathing code / etc is done well!

  • Yuchen+Nathan given access to advanced online class.

  • Flight reviews to be completed in April

April 12 deadline. will need to work on a list of comp attendees: at the moment, just Nathan/Yuchen are confirmed as the pilot/gso.

@Megan Spee ‘s tips of what to do, re:last year

  • do not assign comp roles to anyone on discord until everyone attending’s names have been submitted to AEAC.

  • make sure you are not privatizing conversations about competition:

    • specifically, there should only be 1 comp-attendee-only channel, and it should only be active for things that are not applicable to the rest of the team. (things like personal information for travelling, packing lists, on-road communication).

  • be very open about comp attendee selection! we have a form to self nominate, and we expect everyone interested in comp to fill this out

  • Note that we need probably at least 4 drivers! 2 of which need to have trailer cert too.

    • 2 of which need to be trailer certified.

ideally we have a meeting to discuss comp logistics around AEAC sync time.

Action items

  • set a hard deadline for comp interest submission form

subteam leads maybe shortlist members you’d like to push towards comp! (including yourself if you are available and want to go)

Flight test team should also shortlist people. (think: “who do you want to work with on the flight line/ or at comp in general”)

Things to consider! (a brief list)

  • People who are technically important (have very valuable technical knowledge that is irreplaceable)

  • People who are very passionate and want to get to know what other teams are like

  • Organization/overhead - being awesome and diplomatic towards the competition organizers! This is important to improve relations with everyone involved at comp!

  • MEDIA!

 

Shortlist on 29th-31st of march, and open discussion about it on the 1st.

Will need to purchase drone insurance if conops requires. Each pilot will need to get this

SDC will provide other insurance (will need to receive information from Teertstra about this). Historical emails exist.
