Updates this week!

PCB Assembly for Onsite Members

• ZP3 Primary: Need to clean up MCUs on primary boards that were recently assembled

• ZP3 Interface: Eventually need to assemble more interfaces for these primarys

Admin

• Altium 365 is in view-only mode because our license expired, but guess what? We’re getting it back! Bethany from Altium has replied to our email and will be processing our request and we will be receiving a code for another 1-year license soon

• I have requested 30 licenses again (same as we did last year). Wasn’t sure whether I should have asked for more but I didn’t want to risk us not getting the renewal

Active PCB Projects

High Current Power Module (Zen)

• Decided to use shunt resistor for current sensing (pros & cons outlined on confluence)

• Created block diagram (also on confluence) - open to feedback 12S Power Module

• Next step is component selection, will start with buck converters

12S ESC (Ethan, Chris)

• Research has begun

• Deadlines & milestones created in Asana

• Made block diagrams.

• Had discussions on the block diagram and divided up the work.

• Chris: 5v buck and LDO.

• Zen: 12v buck and ina228.

6S ESC (Mena, Rayyan)

• Deadlines and milestones in Asana

• Meeting on Sunday to finalize our block diagram.

  • Will need to schedule meeting with leads afterwards for feedback on the diagram.

LED Controller (Bennett)

• Waiting for discussion with Ethan

ELRS Gemini (Michael, Farris)

• More research done, looking into ESP32-pico-d4 for microcontroller and SX1280 for radio transceiver and amplifier.

• Put down many bluetooth options in confluence, looking into STM options for micro

PDB (Tom, Matthew)

• No updates this week

Tracking Antenna (Nolan, Hardy)

• Block diagram almost complete

• Tracking antenna sync meeting pending

• Discussing viability of board and whether we can make custom solution with what we already have.

12S Servo Module (Stanley, Michael, Rayyan)

• Blocked by altium 365 down

• No updates, looking into PCB layout

• Michael will give Stanley video references for routing and PCB design
