Competition Relevant PCBAs

  • Midterm board order went out. Relevant boards:

    • Water controller

      • POR assembly early next term (can be prioritized for this term if needed)

      • we want this ready for test on the 14th

      • No firmware required for this board

    • LED REV 4 - POR late this term or early next term

      • decided to call it rev 4 (not rev 5, Daniel was trolling earlier)

      • small upgrade to the system

    • Tracking antenna controller rev2

      • POR assembly early next term

      • cleans up the ugliness on the current tracking antenna

Tracking Antenna

  • found out a mechanical issue on the pitch gear

  • now the issue is resolved and pitch rotation is working

    • haven’t done simulation or balcony test

  • plan to test on Nov 23

Autonomy

  • Nov 16/17 flight test

    • Trying for Saturday the 16th

    • Get IR images from the drone

    • Test Geolocation with local logging.

      • GPS coords are saved on pi, then processed to kml later after extracting log files from pi

  • Cluster estimation merged

    • should be able to get tested next week (23rd)

  • IR detection is in progress

    • Tasks delegated last week, will check up

  • Communication to ground is in progress

    • Looking at FTP, although this writes files to the Pixhawk itself:

      • this solution means writing a file to the pixhawk, then having the ground station read this file from the pixhawk later

    • this is really important!

  • Guided mode testing

    • Have the drone deviate from original mission path using guided mode, then resume the mission from a new location
