Electrical
Competition Relevant PCBAs
Midterm board order went out. Relevant boards:
Water controller
POR assembly early next term (can be prioritized for this term if needed)
we want this ready for test on the 14th
No firmware required for this board
LED REV 4 - POR late this term or early next term
decided to call it rev 4 (not rev 5, Daniel was trolling earlier)
small upgrade to the system
Tracking antenna controller rev2
POR assembly early next term
cleans up the ugliness on the current tracking antenna
Unified VTX
POR sometime next term
Other relevant boards
Single servo driver - handed off for firmware
Wiring
@Jerry Tian to handle the RPi harness this week
Starting on it tomorrow
need to extend killswitch cable & TELEM cable
Co-op Project
they will assemble their own boards alone so this shouldn’t subtract from comp objectives
Embedded Flight Software
Tracking Antenna
found out a mechanical issue on the pitch gear
now the issue is resolved and pitch rotation is working
haven’t done simulation or balcony test
plan to test on Nov 23
CAN Servo Adaptor
6S Servo Module Rev 1
doesn't support battery on rev 1 bc of design decision
ppl are working on it
Single Servo Driver
aim to complete the firmware by Dec 14th for flight test
working on the ground by November 23rd
electrical is all validated here
CAN LEDs
Trying to synchronize LED boards to execute patterns
will have plan ready for next comp sync
Mechanical
Angled landing gear may be ready for next weekend
if it’s not ready, pilot training on peggy 2 will still be done
Payload manufacturing has begun, on track for dec 14th maiden payloads
push decision between payloads to following dec 14th
plan being to swap between the two of them (not fly both at once)
allows us to decide which method is easier for pilots
Spacers for RPI interface board has been manufactured.
RPI has already been mounted
Monster Mount
ready but needs to be mounted
waiting for IR camera to be validated on Houston
need to test fit camera on Houston
there are three spares, filter isn’t on them yet.
We can swap for the filters later
Tracking Antenna Controller Mount
there’s a case design for it
Autonomy
Nov 16/17 flight test
Trying for Saturday the 16th
Get IR images from the drone
Test Geolocation with local logging.
GPS coords are saved on pi, then processed to kml later after extracting log files from pi
Cluster estimation merged
should be able to get tested next week (23rd)
IR detection is in progress
Tasks delegated last week, will check up
Communication to ground is in progress
Looking at FTP, although this writes files to the Pixhawk itself:
this solution means writing a file to the pixhawk, then having the ground station read this file from the pixhawk later
this is really important!
Guided mode testing
Have the drone deviate from original mission path using guided mode, then resume the mission from a new location
Flight Tests
2024-11-16
Will test Geolocation, IR, and obstacle detection (guided mode) for Autonomy
Tracking Antenna test pushed to 2024-11-23 test
See others in Asana
Plan for rest of term is done
Directors will come up with a plan for next term shortly and discuss in next meeting
Reviewing key tasks in Asana
