Updates/repairs made to flight test fixed-wing (JUDY)

  • repaired the nose, redesign is modular and can come out of fuselage

  • added retaining rings to motors

  • repaired motor housing with more hot glue

  • added duct tape where necessary

 

Flight details

17:50-19:00 @ offseason farmlands north of CLV

Conditions were windy (15-23 km/hr)

Flight updates!:

  • Judy can fly for 27+ mins on one battery (charge remaining was 58% after this time, so can definitely fly for longer)

  • Stable, control surfaces acted as expected

  • Frame and adhesion strong enough to withstand pulling out of nosedives

  • Flaps worked for a very slow landing!

  • Judy not at all damaged in this flight test
