Anni did cool test cards for this one!
Lots of things weren’t setup before this flight test!
Pegasus Bullet Connectors
Some bullet connectors failed pre light pull tests
Solder connection is still fine but the wire is breaking?
We should inspect further to see if the wire is breaking
May be worth reflowing all of them?
There’s a lot of them
Should ping in more EE people who were there during assembly
@Nathan Green @Neel Patel @Taim Al-Dabbagh
see if there are more info on how assembly went
Crimping instead of soldering
PP45s may not fit in the tubes, too large for the tubes possibly
If MT30 is in the tube the PP45s could go on the outside
ESCs are reversible, could do MT30s on both sides?
may be software reversible, always hardware solder bridge reversible
Some of insulation rubbed off on tubes in arms
looks like the M5 threads rubbed against it
could add Teflon tape on the threads
should be an easy fix
shoulder bolts
would require custom ones to work for our application
may be worth looking in to but unlikely
Can we test for these being an issue in advance?
Issue could be due to when inserting bolts or sliding wires and not in flight issue-
Recommend Service Level Inspection once a month - continue flying once fix is in
bolts are coated with black oxide
Wires are currently the exact length they need to be (ideal for weight?)
may be under tension when connected on both ends is pulling wires closer to bolts. Could be part of the issue.
leaving more slack will make things easier
Could cut into pwr cable
three conductors
may be worth looking in to
We should be uploading flight logs and linking in debrief
controller and ardu
elrs should run off telem port to get logs
For Nov 11th the logs somehow got wiped off the SD card
@Anthony Luo
AEAC Townhall #1, whoever is attending and representing us fill this out: Doodle Townhall
two or three people
@Daniel Puratich to deal with this
Systems
@Conall Kingshott @Nathan Green @Jonathan Di Giorgio
Clamping leg blocks have been installed on the drone
@Alison Thompson @Evan Janakievski @Georgia Westerlund
Rev one is done on PDM and working on being manufactured
need to order resin and CF from Composites Canada.
ran out of resin on battery shrouds layup
Alison emailing with Graeme on this with what we need to buy and what we can use from composites room
may need to buy other stuffs from Composites Canada
Working on fleshing out tasks for integrating doors and windows, etc.
for next rev of Cabin
initially no doors, no windows, just to test flight characteristics
Graeme said good to use router for Cabin layups
@Andy Zhang @Conall Kingshott @Alison Thompson
Battery shrouds exist
CF layup last Saturday on Aluminum mold
May make another one if we have time
current one is light and flexible
E3 waterjet is broken so we have to wait for cutting it
@Smile Khatri @Mena Azab (Deactivated)
some updates but Smile not here
@Nathan Green @Georgia Westerlund @Megan Spee
no updates
@Anthony Luo
@Nathan Green tested Lidar
May be worth Houston flight of the lidar
dont conflict with autonomy stuff
Would be a good test of does it worky
good test for new pilots
@Tom Chiu
Working on component selection.
@Michael Botros @Mena Azab (Deactivated) @Nolan Haines
(No Updates)
@Michael Botros @Mena Azab (Deactivated) @Nolan Haines
Has been delegated to @Anthony Zhelnakov .

Arm cable issue from flight test
discussed above
Possible switch to Anderson Powerpoles connectors?
Make quick repair for this weekend, then by Dec 2nd have a more final fix
@Neel Patel @Parker Lawrence-Valeriani
Working on component selection and schematic
Lotta discussion last sync
Goal is to finalize stuff before december
Perform testing before holidays hit mid december
@Farris Matar @Daniel Puratich @Anthony Luo
few solder touchups
@Derek Tang @Anthony Luo
was pin configuration issue
got all the chips talking to each other
@Conall Kingshott @Nathan Green
Paused.
@Nolan Haines @Hardy Yu @Michael Botros
Schematic is close to being finished for voltage sensing. @Michael Botros
SD Card and shield connectors @Hardy Yu
connection to Nucleon is remaining bit
Overcurrent protection @Nolan Haines
Goal to have board schematic done before exam season.
Last EE meeting this was discussed in detail
@Yuchen Lin @Stanley Tang
Bmx driver in testing
since use a lot of external library no unit testing
Mavlink message decoder
Looking into new GPS
email to vector nav to ask them
we have a vn300 which can supplement the neom8 and x
EFS is looking into comparing chips for INS
VN-200 is cheaper and smaller
VN does the sensor fusion for you
using our objectively worse system may be easier for us?
@Alex Yang @Amy Hu
Fixed file directory pathing issue issue from last week’s flight test
@Tong Zhang
Detect target worker, implementing decision handling, implementing flight interface
no PRs open yet, but hopefully soon
@Arunav Munjal
Creating a path on WRESTRC
not this weekend, but possibly next weekend could be tested
implementing hard and soft limits and going around waypoints
@Smile Khatri
Houston camera mounting was suboptimal
Getting it fixed, some design progress
May be worth ordering another camera because we only have one
could wait for MEF bc it’s mostly autonomy funding
do we like the current camera?
there’s not a lot of options for global shutter cameras for our use case
light
purpling is not a huge deal as long as camera still worky
there are cheaper variants of the carrier board for this same camera
may have diff mounting holes, but may be easy to accomodate
Is there anything else that’s one of one that everything is contingent on?

@Hardy Yu @Rosanne Zhu
Testing Goals beofre end of term
end to end sensors
Gemini
Video over LTE
Calibrate Opflow
should be quick
Rangefinder
was tested already
Dual GPS
configured and functions
Four vs Six Batteries test
requires doing autotune
Nov 18th
no peggy stuff
Yuchen and Hardy autotuning
Could be used for Pegasus four vs six batteries?
don’t rush autotune with Pegasus
take more time to get drone in a good state before doing this
Last flight test Houston was not successfully completed
Do every axis on Houston before Pegasus
roll is most difficult
battery issues for autotune last week
we dont have enough Houston batteries
this will gate us
Nov 19th
Autonomy photo data acquisition day for Houston
no peggy
Hardy or Yuchen
Upcoming weekend dates
will plan as we get closer
Nov 25th
Open House will have most people busy?
Want drone at open house to show it?
open house is for incoming applicants
Nov 26th
Dec 2nd
Dec 3rd
No more weekends this term due to finals hitting
@Anthony Luo
Please start on the quizzes and then ask for stick time so we can get you up to speed!
Please come to flight tests to learn how we run them!
@Anthony Luo
in ok state
will make RFC for all changes eventually
@Megan Spee @Anthony Luo @Daniel Puratich @Georgia Westerlund
Anni will popoff tmrw on it
formally schedule this as a work session and get other people grinding together
Georgia popping off on it rn :pog:
Deadline Jan 15th
people will enjoy life over holidays
