Winter 2024 Project Plans
Pathing
Made good progress on Pathing during the Fall term. Finished Task 2 code and very close to being flight tested. Need to focus more on Task 1 code. No planning has been done so far but we plan to focus on that at the start of this term.
Want to make more efforts on the pathing team as most of the competition Autonomy points are allocated towards pathing.
Autonomy Airside
Solid progress so far but there is still a lot that needs to be done. There is still a lot of integration that needs to be completed. Expect a lot of bugs and issues to occur when we do integration tests. Hope to have the geolocation pipeline finished by this term and complete integration tests. Ideally it works but expect for the worst.
LTE Communication
Need to focus on getting the transmitting the images from the camera. Need to setup a Github repository to get the code ready that will run on the Raspberry Pi. Need to profile image compression on a Raspberry Pi and test out with LTE as well.
Don’t think flight test is needed for this project. We can verify the system works properly through ground testing.
IMACS
Solid progress has been made on this project. We have a sample GUI running and are focused on expanding the UI. Data telemetry architecture has been defined in and implemented. Good project to have because it gives team members more tasks to work on.
Model Training
Data collection has been completed during the Fall term and the team is focused on now cleaning the data. Need to see how many images we have in our dataset and see if it is possible to collect more data in the Spring.
Need to clean dataset → annotate dataset on Roboflow → Start training model on desktop.
